Jill Wrigley was a 2009 Open Society Institute Community Fellow. Her project “Good to Grow” supported schoolyard gardens, food education and global youth garden connections through The Growing Connection, Inc. of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization. She focused her work at the Baltimore Montessori Public Charter School and City Schools’ Great Kids Farm as it developed infrastructure to support these initiatives citywide. Wrigley died of lung cancer at her home in southwest Baltimore on Oct. 5, 2016. She was 52.
