Next Wednesday, July 21st, the Homelessness Workgroup of the People’s Commission to Decriminalize Maryland hosts the second workshop in its Summer Series, this one designed “to educate the public and build support towards repealing 4th Degree Burglary in Maryland.” From the registration page:

Attendees will learn more about the criminal charge of “4th Degree Burglary” and how this law impacts people experiencing homelessness, youth, and Marylanders. Advocates have identified 4th Degree Burglary as a high priority to repeal because many youth and people experiencing homelessness are charged with this “crime” when they are found seeking shelter in abandoned homes. We want to work towards repealing this law as part of our efforts to decriminalize Homelessness in Maryland and hope you will join us in this fight!

This workshop is open to the public. Register here.
