Rabbi Jill Jacobs, executive director of T’ruah: The Rabbinic Call for Human Rights, is coming to Baltimore the weekend of May 11-12 as a Scholar-in Residence at Beth Am Synagogue in Reservoir Hill to talk about “Human Rights in Judaism.” The program is co-sponsored by OSI-Baltimore, Jews United for Justice, and Hinenu: The Baltimore Justice Shtiebl.

Rabbi Jacobs, who has been named one of the Forward’s 50 Influential American Jews and Newsweek’s 50 Most Influential Rabbis in America, will talk about a range of subjects, including mass incarceration and democracy, and their connection to Jewish texts and tradition. See the full schedule and RSVP information here.

Last year, T’ruah received a $25,000 grant from Open Society Foundations to train rabbis and senior professionals on campuses and in congregations to respond to anti-Semitism as part of OSF’s Communities Against Hate initiative.
