Each year, the William & Lanaea C. Featherstone Foundation, co-founded by 2013 OSI Community Fellow and Fellows Advisory Board co-chair Lanaea Featherstone, honors the high academic achievements of outstanding students from underrepresented communities across the state of Maryland. On September 24, the foundation announced their 30 Featherstone College Scholarship Award recipients. These students will receive up to $3,000 in scholarships for their outstanding academic performance.

Started in 2008, the Foundation seeks to develop opportunities and programs to promote self-sufficiency, economic empowerment and stronger communities in underserved areas across Maryland.

Featherstone also appears in a video on OSI’s Instagram account encouraging people to apply for an OSI Community Fellowships. Applications are due Oct. 18th at 5pm.
