This Saturday, July 3, the Black Yield Institute will host a solidarity march at 3:30pm to support the Cherry Hill Urban Community Garden, a project started by 2017 OSI Community Fellow Eric Jackson through the Black Yield Institute to address the many food deserts in the city. Earlier this week, the Housing Authority of Baltimore City threatened the garden with eviction.
The organization currently has a petition up at Change.org to save this important food resource for the community. You can access the petition and learn more about the garden by clicking this link.
Additional information about the march can be found on Black Yield Institute’s Facebook page.
