Last night, ABC aired the fifth part of its six-part series on “the realities of Black life,” “Soul of a Nation.” The episode focused on faith, and included a segment about Baltimore hosted by Nightline co-anchor Byron Pitts, who grew up in Baltimore and attended New Shiloh Baptist Church. Pitts interviewed New Shiloh Pastor Dr. Harold A. Carter Jr., New Psalmist Baptist Church Pastor Bishop Walter S. Thomas, Sr., Pleasant Hope Baptist Church Pastor Rev. Dr. Heber Brown III, poet, artist, and Pleasant Hope parishioner Lady Brion, and Baltimore artist and activist Shan Wallace.

Lady Brion is a 2015 OSI-Baltimore Community Fellow and Executive Director of the Black Arts District. Watch the full episode here. The Baltimore section begins at the 11:40 mark.
