This morning, Mayor Brandon Scott released his Transition Report, which includes specific recommendations in 10 focus areas, including Public Health and Public Safety, Education and Youth Recreation, and Business, Workforce, and Neighborhood Development. The Transition Team was led by a nine-member Steering Committee, including OSI-Baltimore Director Danielle Torain, OSI Advisory Board member Alicia Wilson, and 2018 OSI Community Fellow Brittany Young.

Recommendations in each of the 10 focus areas were broken into sections for the first 100 days, the first year, and the first term. The Public Health and Public Safety Committee lays out perhaps the most comprehensive plan, “Reimagining Public Safety and Accountability,” including three components, each with its own set of recommendations: A Comprehensive Approach to Public Safety, Police Accountability, and Improving the Quality of Investigations, Arrests, and Prosecutions of Gun Crimes and Acts of Violence.
