OSI’s Karen Webber to speak at Hopkins symposium on Schools, Prisons, and Concentrated Poverty

Karen Webber, director of OSI’s Education and Youth Development Program will participate in a panel on “Restoring Schools and Healing Communities ” as part of the Johns Hopkins University School of Education’s symposium on Schools, Prisons, and Concentrated Poverty (agenda). The symposium announcement includes a data packed Call to Action: Generating Strategies that Promote Nurturing, Justice, and Equitable Environments in Baltimore.

Other speakers at the symposium include Baltimore City Council President Brandon Scott, Senator Jill Carter, activist and author D. Watkins, and representatives from several OSI-Baltimore grantees, including Nicole Hanson, executive director of Out for Justice, Dr. Rhonda Richetta, Principal at City Springs Elementary/Middle School, and Andres Gonzalez, cofounder of the Holistic Life Foundation.
