The Daily Record recently announced its list of Leading Women in Baltimore, and it includes two Open Society Institute Community Fellows, Lanaea Featherstone (2013) and Shantell Roberts (2017).

Featherstone developed her fellowship, “Empowering Latinos One ‘Click’ at a Time,” to teach Latino immigrants basic computer skills and is now president and CEO of the Featherstone Foundation. Roberts started Touching Young Lives after losing her infant daughter. She used her fellowship to get the Portable Alternative Crib (P.A.C.) as well as information on safe sleeping methods for babies to as many parents as possible. The P.A.C is a lightweight cardboard box that serves as a bassinet.

The Leading Women honorees, who were selected by previous Top 100 Women and Leading Women winners, are recognized for the accomplishments made so far in their careers. Honorees were judged on professional experience, community involvement, and commitment to inspiring change.
