Baltimore Business Journal just announced its “40 Under 40” list for 2018 and among the recipients are 2016 OSI Community Fellow Gianna Rodriguez and Mark Procopio, CEO of OSI grantee FreeState Justice.

As part of Fellowship, Rodriguez expanded her program, Baltimore Youth Arts, a job readiness program for youth who have contact with the justice system which includes arts education, mentorship, and transitional employment.

OSI has supported FreeState Justice to help the organization improve conditions for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth in Maryland with a particular goal of making schools safe spaces for LGBTQ youth.

Honorees were nominated by co-workers, employees, friends, and family for the award, which is open to those 39 and younger. A celebration marking those receiving the honor will be held on November 15 at the Hard Rock Café.

In 2017, OSI Advisory Board member, Alicia Wilson, and 2009 Community Fellow Sarah Hemmniger were among those on the list.
