Two community forums regarding the Department of Justice consent decree are scheduled for this month. The first will be held on Tuesday, August 15 at the Baltimore City Community College’s Fine Arts Auditorium. The second will be on Wednesday, August 16, at Morgan State University’s Student Center. Both forums will be held from 6-8pm. Additional information here. Find more information about the four finalists in the monitor selection process here.

The forums are designed to give the Finalist Applicants for the Independent Monitor role a chance to respond to written questions submitted by members of the public. One hour of each of the forums will be dedicated for members of the public to speak directly with the Finalist Applicants in breakout sessions.

If you are unavailable to attend, you can view the forum on TV through the City’s CharmTV Channel 25 or via the website, http://charmtv.tv/. Viewers and participants can submit feedback on the finalists to Baltimore.Consent.Decree@usdoj.gov. The deadline to submit feedback is Wednesday, August 23rd, 2017.

On Friday, August 25th, 2017, the City and BPD together with DOJ will recommend a finalist to the Court. In the event that none of the parties can agree on a finalist, the City and BPD and DOJ may name up to two teams (one for the City and BPD, and one for DOJ), to the finalist list.
