2015 OSI-Baltimore Community Fellow Brian Gerardo’s Baltimore Dance Crews Project (BDCP) is launching a series of pay-what-you-can dance classes, the Purple Box Workshops. A purple box will be made available at the beginning of each class, where guests can make a cash contribution, if they can, but no one will be turned away if they’re unable to afford the standard $15 per hour drop-in rate.

Guests will also have the option of contributing to help a fellow dancer.

More information about the Purple Box Workshops, and the BDCP summer series schedule is available here.  Participants will have the opportunity to perform at Artscape this summer.

All profits will go towards bringing an afterschool program to a Baltimore City school. For every $150 we raise, we will bring a workshop to a school and, every $2500 supports a 16-week afterschool club (aka school crew).
