Deadline: Monday, March 5, 2018 at 5:00pm

Applications are now available for OSI-Baltimore’s Community Fellowships Program, established in 1998 to assist individuals wishing to apply their education, life experiences, and professional experiences to serve marginalized communities. Now a corps of more than 190 individuals, Baltimore Community Fellows have established some of the most respected and successful initiatives in Baltimore, including Wide Angle Youth Media, Community Law in Action, Thread, Book Thing of Baltimore, Community Conferencing, the Right to Housing Alliance, and Bikemore. Read about our 2017 fellows here.

Applicants may come from all walks of life, including but not limited to-business management, the arts, law, public health, education, architecture, and engineering. Individuals from underserved communities and people of color are strongly encouraged to apply.

Fellowship awards are in the amount of $60,000 for a term of 18 months. Each year, up to 10 individuals are awarded a Baltimore Community Fellowship to implement innovative projects that seek to improve the circumstances and capacity of an underserved community in Baltimore City. Applicants may apply for a fellowship to work under the auspices of a nonprofit organization in Baltimore City, or to work independently.

The goals of these fellowships are to encourage public and community service careers, expand the number of mentors and role models available to youth in inner-city neighborhoods, and promote entrepreneurial initiatives that empower communities to increase opportunities and improve the quality of life for their residents.

Individuals interested in applying for a Community Fellowship must submit two copies of the application. Complete the online application, or download the application.

Deadline: Monday, March 5, 2018 at 5:00pm

If you have questions regarding the application process for the OSI-Baltimore Community Fellowship Program, please call Katy Caldwell at (443) 909-7381
