Emily Faxon is the Program Specialist for the Education & Youth Development Program team. After graduating from Hopkins with a major in public health studies, Emily received her masters from Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where she focused on epidemiology. Prior to joining OSI-Baltimore, Emily was a Research Assistant to the Dean of the Hopkins School of Education, where she had been working on a personalized learning model which allows students to learn at their own rate.
Emily was involved in community service programs growing up and, more recently, volunteered at a project started by one of OSI’s Community Fellows, Hand in Hand. At Hopkins she was on the Governing Board of the Student Outreach Resource Center, which encourages students on the medical campuses to engage in service learning in conjunction with community based organizations in East Baltimore.
